The Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing folder creates a lovely layer that looks like stitched quilting.  Quilting is very on trend so it makes a great Christmas card that is quaint and trendy!

Team Color Challenge

I love stamping with my team.  We have a lot of fun with our weekly stamp challenges.  Here is the color challenge that we used recently:

  

This is the card I made.  The layout was inspired by my friend Cathy Stephenson.  I loved her suggestions of stamping the ferns  and then embossing the brickwall.  It looks fabulous!  My supply list is provided at the end of this post.

What's On My Desk Today?

Welcome to Wednesday - it is hump day and the weekend is coming!  I wanted to show you what has been on my desk this past week.  I had fun making these pieces into a birthday card for my friend.  I think she will like it!  The "Butterfly Basics" stamps and coordinating framelits is one of my all-time favorite sets.

This arrived in my mailbox from my friend Suzie Barnes.  I love it soooo much that it has been perched on my desk to inspire creativity.

This sat on my desk waiting for the final touch.  I wanted to follow the sketch but wasn't sure what to use for the circle element.  Our "Merry Music" Designer Series Paper has so many fun designs.  Lots of black on white and then some sheets are white on black sheets.  I realized a circle with a snowflake and music staff made a great center piece element for this card it ties in the background music paper, the snowflake paper and the Christmas theme of red, green, and snowflakes.

Team Swap Monday 2017 Holiday Catalog #2

Welcome to Team Swap Monday featuring our 2017 Holiday catalog!  This is my second post showing holiday products and I have 4 card designs to share today.

Suzie Barnes made this stunning card of sunflowers with our Painted Harvest stamps.  The colors are so captivating!

Karen Shirer features the Merry Mistletoe stamps set from our Annual catalog.  I love the elegance of gold and Very Vanilla!

Wendee Jones made a cute combo with the Merry Cafe set, Spooky Cat and Cat punch bundle, and the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper. 

Stephanie Gillihan used the Painted Harvest stamp set to show a traditional sunflower bouquet on her card.   Her colors are so rich!

Team Swap Monday 2017 Holiday Catalog #1 and Labor Day

Welcome back to my Team Swap Monday series!  I am excited to change topic into our 2017 Holiday Catalog and all things autumn, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years!

This is the card that I designed for our team swap. Fresh pressed apple cider = fall!  I easily combined the stamps in Merry Cafe to make this sentiment.  See the stamps HERE.

Here is a close up of the details that make it extra special.  You can see the Wink of Stella clear sparkle on the apple.  There is copper metallic thread sparkling in the loops of jute twine.

Here is my first design draft, too plain.  I realized I wanted more presence of Soft Sky to accent the designer series paper.

 When I start designing a card I pull out various card stock colors to match the designer series paper. After completing my 10 cards for the swap I layered these scraps to use up my leftover pieces.  It's a little busy but it works as a one-of-a-kind design! 

I am in LOVE with our Painted Autumn designer series paper.  The colors and prints make me so happy and inspired with eagerness to create!  You will want to order it for your projects, see it HERE.

Labor Day Weekend 

This is a beautiful and fun tradition in Boise, our annual Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic.  We try to arrive before 7am so that we can watch the balloons inflate.

 The sun rises and the colors become brilliantly radiant and captivating.  Then they rise up and float out across the valley.

 We also made a stop at the Idaho Capitol Building to enjoy the quiet, still, space of early morning that was empty of typical downtown traffic.  

My daughter and I had such  a great time together going early on Saturday and Sunday mornings to admire the hot air balloon launch. Saturday included a dozen doughnuts to surprise the family.  Sunday was a Starbucks morning date for just us two!  I got to stamp on Sunday afternoon - which made me soooo happy!
