Daffodil Afternoon Spotlight # 2

 We are counting down to the end of Sale-a-bration and we only have 2 days left, so let's check out 2 different looks for this Daffodil Afternoon designers series paper card sketch for Mother's Day!

I love this torn edge where the two prints meet. By changing the Designer Series Paper pattern, the ribbon (Just Jade and Gold Braided Ribbon), the color of ink (Just Jade), and the gem - you can get a look that is completely different yet equally beautiful.

MEASUREMENTS

Evening Evergreen Card Base 8 ½” x 5 ½”, score at 4 ¼”

Cut Inside Very Vanilla 4” x 5 ¼”

Cut Layer 1 Very Vanilla 4” x 5 ¼”

Cut DSP 3 ¾” x 6”

Punch sentiment label in Very Vanilla

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut Evening Evergreen Card Base at 8 ½” x 5 ½”, and score at 4 ¼” 

2. Cut Inside and Outside Layers, and adhere Very Vanilla Inside Layer only. Set Outside Layer aside. 

3. Cut DSP Layer. Tear around the 4” mark. Adhere coordinating pattern to the bottom of the Outside Layer, and the main pattern to the top of the Outside Layer. 

4. Wrap ribbon around this panel, leaving enough length to tie a bow. Adhere this panel to the card front. 

5. Stamp sentiment on punch.

6. Attach sentiment panel to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

7. Tie a nice bow to the left of the sentiment. 

8. Sprinkle on the gems.

9. Decorate the inside and the envelope!

10. BONUS TIP:  To decorate the envelope, use a 2 ¼” x 6” strip and adhere it to the back flap with glue. Cut around the envelope edge. Now your envelope has just an extra little pop!

Friends & Mother's Day Inspiration

Hello friends! I am so excited to share my recent stamping creativity for the Mother's Day card class.  I used the Scalloped Notecards and Envelopes and featured the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper for my designs.

This sentiment is from the Tea Together stamp set, which is retiring.  The scallop circle punches are also retiring, and discounted so don't miss out!  I'm so sad to see these favorites leave our new catalog.

The next 2 cards feature sentiments from the Strong & Beautiful stamp set.  Aren't the fonts pretty? These are great for Mother's Day, a mentor, teacher, dear friend, so many wonderful women in our lives that these cards would suit.

I  LOVE the stripe print and that it peeks out beneath the scallops.  Adding a layer to the inside is an easy and pretty way to coordinate the card.  Using the circle punch helps to highlight the birds from the Bird Ballad DSP.  This is an easy way to use your DSP as a focal element of your design.

Unboxing of New Product and Mother's Day

Hello stampers!  Oh my, I hope you are ready for some Janey on video.  I love opening my Stampin' Up! catalog pre-order so I wanted to share the excitement and fun with you.  I made it in two parts, because my kids walked in the door a bit earlier than expected.  I almost didn't share this.  I hope you pardon my oopsies to get centered on the camera.  Do you love to see the products all early?

Happy Mother's Day everyone - it snuck up on us!  But it really is this weekend. So here are two design ideas and alternates for each one using an older Stampn' Up! stamp set: Sitting Here and a newer Stampin' Up! stamp set: Apron of Love (products are detailed at the end of this post).  

This features our Sitting Here stamp set and I added the 'mom' word and arrow from Thoughtful Banners.   Doesn't a cozy porch swing look inviting for a long chat with mom?

Same design but changed up for a daughter.

I use my bone folder to curve the card stock to help the pillows look plump and cushiony!

Our Apron of Love is a fun bundle - 10% off until May 31st!  It is super cute for a Mother's Day card.  I used the Petal Pair embossing folder to create a lovely background and pearls in the centers of the flowers.

I changed up my design for the embossing to be vertical, and I added some cheery Tutti-Frutti designer series paper.  I think friends enjoy Mother's Day cards too, don't you agree?
