Baby Blues and Honey Bees

July has been a hard month for several friends that have recently lost loved ones.  Sympathy cards are challenging to make to convey comfort and tender hearted support.  I want my design to reflect my heart and if possible, for it to be personal to my friend and the relationship of their lost loved one.

I designed this card for my sweet friend CJ.  She often remarked that her daddy had baby blue eyes so I colored the flowers as a reminder of his stunning eyes.

She is a beekeeper so these honey bees with the pale blue flowers were just the compilation I desired to create.  I hope she sees this and remembers her daddy's eyes fondly and that she is loved and cared about by her friends and family.

Gentle Sympathy and Extravaganza

I have recently needed a few more sympathy cards than normal.  I really liked the subtle background from Touches of Texture stamp set.  Perfect Plum ink on the Perfect Plum card stock seemed like a very gentle monochromatic choice.  The sentiment came from the Rose Wonder stamp set.

I hope that my friend is comforted and finds it lovely to look at during this sad time of loss.  Everyone needs to know that they are loved and supported.  A handmade card definitely shows love.

Team Color Challenges

One of my favorite parts of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is having a team to collaborate with and share stamping.  We like to do challenges with color and design sketches. The challenge is to put the color combinations together in a spectacular design!   I wanted to share my recent entries for our color challenges.  

This card features the Sprinkles of Life stamp set and coordinating punch.  

This card features the Touches of Texture stamp set and the sentiment is from the Birthday Blooms stamp set.  I was stunned at how amazing the colors looked when put together.
