Barn Door

Hello Stampers!  I hope you are preparing to have a lovely Labor Day weekend.  Our Idaho weather has cooled down to comfortable temperatures, the forest fire smoke has cleared up, and we are ready to enjoy time outside camping.

I want to share some stamping inspiration as you start your weekend with this cute Barn Door project.  You will love this card!

I felt that a Barn Door needed a barn animal so I grabbed the Wood Words stamps and Wood Crate framelits to create this rooster.  The Lovely Lipstick layer has the sliders cut out first, and then embossed second.

The Barn Door slides like an authentic barn door should. TIP:  I used card stock 3/4 inch punched circles on ether side of the slot with a mini dimensional in the slot. The circles keep the mini dimensional in the slot so it can slide side to side.  I used glue dots on the front side card stock circles to attach the door.
The copper foil hardware pieces are all glued into place and are not part of the sliding door function.  My supplies are listed at the end of this post.  I hope you are inspired to purchase the Barn Door products to make your own cute projects!

ICS Blog Hop - Petal Promenade DSP

Welcome to our monthly Inspired, Create, And Share Blog Hop! Each month we share creativity to inspire your.  This month we are sharing projects featuring our Designer Series Paper promotion.

I chose the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper for my designs. The colors and flowers in this photo-realistic paper collection are drop-dead gorgeous!  The flowers remind me of the flower stalls at my local farmer's market and the Pike Place flower market in Seattle - bliss for my flower loving heart.  The other unique element of the paper is the frames for card fronts and scrapbooking.  There are also beautiful and subtle realistic marble slab prints.

My first design has vellum embossed with the ruffled embossing folder.  I didn't want to hide the beautiful flowers so vellum is my favorite subtle layering choice. The colors and flowers on this DSP sheet are some of my favorites: carnations, hydrangeas, ranunculus, eucalyptus, and more.
I used the Rich Razzleberry dark Blends alcohol marker to color the pearls to coordinate with the Blackberry Bliss "Thank You."
I wanted to show you that I weaved the Fresh Fig ribbon into the Lace. Then I gently gathered it to create a ruffled effect.  I used glue dots to hold it in a straight line.  It is wrapped around the sides of the vellum and glue dots anchor it on the back side.
I trimmed dimensionals to fit all the edges and angles.  This gives the thinlet extra lift to pop as a focal feature.
On an angle you can see the subtle layers of Berry Burst card stock beneath the Blackberry Bliss card stock.  All of the supplies for my projects are detailed at the end of this post.
When it comes to flowers...how can a girl ever pick just one favorite???  More gorgeous carnations, peonies, roses, and hydrangeas in this print.  I love a double bow to dress up my card.  I used a sponge dauber with Petal Pink to embellish the edges of my punched Pretty Label sentiment.  This is perfect for that special girlfriend and wouldn't it be gorgeous for a wedding card?
Peonies, buds, and more in gorgeous pinks, grapefruits and whites.  I can't resist accenting pearls on our Tufted embossing folder.  I love this color combo: it is so fresh, rich, and bright!

Here is the story behind the creation process for this gorgeous Petal Promenade DSP.  Click on the image to watch the video.
