Autumn 2024 Creative Escape Flashback

Apparently I never shared photos from our Autumn 2024 Creative Escape. I posted on Facebook but never on my blog.  So let me tell you about our fun weekend!

This is the group of lovely ladies, we had a wonderful time together.

There are so many displays to share inspiration and to see products in person.

This is one of our cutely decorated surprise gifts. 

Another surprise gift so that shower time is pleasant and your hands stay soft!

The event bag has been very popular, I have heard from several people that this was their favorite bag.  The chestnut color corduroy bag was a fun change!

Homemade caramel corn is an event favorite and is expected when people attend. 

These cards are from our Friday night Speedy Stamping Bingo Class.

The optional Saturday afternoon add-on class featured these cards.

The Friday afternoon add-on class featured the adorable "More than Autumn" bundle and we made the projects below.

The 6" x 6" framed sampler is a cute project to keep or gift to a friend.

A sweet and simple Apple Cider card.

A fun and more detailed gift card holder, fancy fold card design.

And an extra special fancy fold card that was a more complex double dutch fold. The design came from Dawn Griffith, I changed the color scheme. 

 

This was such a fun card to make.  We die cut all of the pieces, used adhesive sheets on the die cut words. The Iconic Celebrations Designer Series Paper was a great color combo with the pumpkin theme.

Saturday evening is dessert night!  We had pies, Macarons, and a Maple bar cake - so much yumminess!

Well that was only a portion of the photos and I hope you enjoyed my comments.  It goes by so fast and is the sweetest time together.

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Pick of the Crop

Hello and welcome to our Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop to see our alternative designs for June's Pick of the Crop card kit.  I'm so excited to see the ideas from our team and I think you will delighted with their creativity and inspiration!

This kit includes 3 card designs/3 of each, and a gift bag for 10 total projects.  These cards are so cute and a totally unique theme for Paper Pumpkin.

I grabbed the card base that looked like a picnic and stacked up the cheese and fruit die cuts on top of the picnic blanket. 

It turned out so cute and easy!

Next I played with the stamps and my Basic White card stock to make my own card design.  Oh I love this large "Hello" sentiment stamp. Stamped with Calypso Coral it is a gorgeous layer!  The tag is another stamp from the kit.  This design is simple, fast, and stunning.

Creative Escape Fall 2021 Retreat Recap

 

I have to tell you about the Creative Escape that was just a bit ago!

I was not sure if I needed a bigger vehicle and a trailer but with some help I sent boxes in another car and then crammed the rest into my car.  It was a full load!  Then it was so fun to unload and set up to welcome everyone with little gifts and signs on their doors.

This was Friday evening as people got to know each other.

Then they settled in after dinner to get to work!

The next day included 2 sessions of Make and Take projects in the morning and evening.

We had beautiful views from the lodge and more gifts!

Each person was gifted a handmade trash bin to take home - lots of pretty colors and all sorts of different prints!

So many wonderful comments and enthusiasm for the next Creative Escape Winter 2022, which is now open for registration.

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Hope Box

Welcome to the monthly Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop. Each month our team explores the crafting kit from Paper Pumpkin to determine all the possibilities for alternate designs.  Here is the kit unboxing video to show the intended designs:

This is one of the card designs as instructed by the box instructions.

This is how the die cut arrives and you need to punch it out to use it.

I love all the color on the negative sheet so I had to use it!  I trimmed it down to fit the card base.  I also added some of the ribbon from the suggested box decor.

And placed it on the card base in place of the intended colorful die cut.  This kit included 3 languages for the printed sentiment labels. I used the German and French sentiment labels to create a framed shadow effect.

Here is the next card assembled as instructed.  I love the bright, tie-die look on the banner strips.

One my first alternate design I cut each banner in half and then created a pinwheel pattern behind the sentiment.  I also added some of the ribbon from the suggested box decor.

The negative sheet from all of those banner pieces caught my eye again: don't toss the negative pieces! By cutting the banners pieces in half lengthwise I created frame pieces for the tops and sides but I let the bottom white space show.  I suppose I could have fussy cut that side, what do you think?

As you can tell I was immensely inspired by this kit and the many beautiful elements that were included for the 9 cards in Paper Pumpkin's August Hope Box.
