Cards Featuring Designer Series Paper

Hello stampers!  I have a few cards to share that feature our beautiful designer series paper (DSP).

My first card is one of the 3x3 frames from our Petal Promenade DSP.  I used Gorgeous Grape card stock for the card base and ink.

 The Whisper White polka dot tulle ribbon is so festive.  I tied loops of Silver metallic thread in the ribbon knot to add sparkle.

This card features another print from Petal Promenade and the Floral Phrases stamps.   I love vellum as it add a dreamy touch to any project!

 Did you know that you can emboss vellum?  I embossed the vellum with our Ruffled embossing folder.  Just be sure to moisten the vellum with a mister so that is will soften to bend rather than crack.

Under the Misteltoe DSP has many fun patterns.  I love mixing the patterns and everyone at class liked making this cute card.   I used the Christmas Pines stamp set for the sentiment.  The envelope flap is so cheery!

Technique - Embossing Paste

Hello Stamping friends!  Our technique at club this month was learning about embossing paste application. We made a stunning background for this card design.

 I used the new Shimmery White embossing paste with the Sweet Soiree decorative masks for our class.  There is so much sparkle in this paste, it is really eye catching.

I always use my learning experience to teach my class.  This rose mask was instructive to pay attention to the thickness of the paste. You can see such a difference in the thin vs thick areas on this rose.

Fortunately I make a couple of images each time I am trying something new.  So my other rose turned out better: practice makes for improvement!  I fussy cut around the rose to attach it with dimensionals to this card front.

My tips for embossing paste is to be prepared with a pan or deep container of warm soapy water to insert the mask and palette knives immediately after use.  The paste sets up rapidly and you do not want all that texture permanently adhered to your mask.  The shimmery paste has glittery flecks that will scratch the mask surface but it does not effect the functioning of the mask.

Have you used our embossing paste?  You will really love the look of our embossing paste.  You can make it any color by mixing in a few drops from our ink refills.  It is a quick technique to learn for a very professional and unique texture to your card designs.

ICS Blog Hop - Join The Fold - Floral Phrases

Welcome to a special Inspire, Create, and Share blog hop! We recently attended OnStage in Salt Lake City with 2,700 demonstrators to see new products, hear training, and connect with friends. I really enjoyed making this card.  It was my first time to make a Z fold design and it took a few trials and errors to get it right.  I used the Z fold design tutorial from Sue Vine.  My supplies are listed at the end of this post.

This design showcases many layers and angles.  So you need to be sure to think about the potential for designer series paper, embellishments, and of course stamping!

I wanted to share some gorgeous swaps today that feature the Fresh Floral Designer Series Paper stack.  This stack has 40 sheets, 4 each of 2 double-sided designs on 12x12 sheets.  This features all 5 of the 2017-2019 In Colors.

This card was made by Karen Johnson and features the coordinating "Floral Phrases" stamp set.

This design was made by Sara Sherlock.  She used the "Just Add Text" stamp set. I love our finely woven ribbon and all of this gold embossing and gold foil look gorgeous with Fresh Fig.
