ICS Blog Hop Punch Me Out

Hello friends and welcome to our July Inspire, Create, & Share Blog Hop!  Our theme is "Punch Me Out" to feature fun ways to use our Stampin' Up! punches.

Layering different punches is one of my go-to design elements.  My card shows that the Story Label punch is a super option to frame behind the Tailored Tag label punch.  The designs of each shape are striking and add textural interest.

I love layered punches! This card was quick and fun to make.  The background stamp images are from the Verdant Garden stamp set, and the sentiment is from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set.  My project supplies are listed at the end of this post so you can make this at home!

May 2018 Blogging Friends Blog Hop

Hello Stampers! I am thrilled to be joining the Blogging Friends Blog Hop group.  Their blog hop occurs on the first of each month to share fresh stamping inspiration with you.  The theme this month is Fun Folds and I am featuring our Coffee Break designer series paper and Coffee Cafe bundle.
I had so much fun learning the Twisted Gate Fold card technique.  I love our Coffee Break designer series paper, it has so many interesting geometric designs in a soothing color palette.   This suite is one or our Retiring Products so I had to create with it today before pulling it from my shelf.

The rosette is a clever embellishment to connect the card flaps. I used a tutorial by www.mixedupcraft.com on Youtube to learn this technique.   The Simply Scored tool makes it so easy - all my supplies are detailed at the end of this post.
This would be great with a gift card for a coffee loving friend!  I also wanted to make an appropriate envelope for this size and shape of card.  The envelope punch board came to the rescue.
I think the Coffee Break DSP looks great in this fun fold design and it is especially charming with the coordinating envelope.  Don't forget to order the Coffee Cafe bundle and get 10% off before the bundle savings price retires.  The stamps and framelits will return in our next Annual catalog but only as separate products.
You don't want to miss out on the rest of the Blogging Friends Blog Hopping adventure, so, click below to advance directly to Crystals's website.  I know you'll be inspired by her creativity!  Or, click below on any of the names to see what they have created for you.

Technique - Embossing Paste

Hello Stamping friends!  Our technique at club this month was learning about embossing paste application. We made a stunning background for this card design.

I used the new Shimmery White embossing paste with the Sweet Soiree decorative masks for our class.  There is so much sparkle in this paste, it is really eye catching.

I always use my learning experience to teach my class.  This rose mask was instructive to pay attention to the thickness of the paste. You can see such a difference in the thin vs thick areas on this rose.
Fortunately I make a couple of images each time I am trying something new.  So my other rose turned out better: practice makes for improvement!  I fussy cut around the rose to attach it with dimensionals to this card front.
My tips for embossing paste is to be prepared with a pan or deep container of warm soapy water to insert the mask and palette knives immediately after use.  The paste sets up rapidly and you do not want all that texture permanently adhered to your mask.  The shimmery paste has glittery flecks that will scratch the mask surface but it does not effect the functioning of the mask.

Have you used our embossing paste?  You will really love the look of our embossing paste.  You can make it any color by mixing in a few drops from our ink refills.  It is a quick technique to learn for a very professional and unique texture to your card designs.
Here is a helpful video tutorial from Stampin' Up!

We also offer matte white or silver embossing paste.
I am happy to help you get started with an order.  My online store is open 24 hours at http://bit.ly/shopwithJaney
