Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop Poppin' Birthday

Hello Crafters!  Welcome to our newly re-named and now monthly Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop.  We believe that there are many possibilities for fun and creativity in every Paper Pumpkin kit and can't wait to explore and share our ideas with you every 4th Tuesday.

Poppin' Birthday is our March Paper Pumpkin and I have had so much making all sorts of alternates with my kit.  First this kit came with a FREE extra stamp set, a gift for Paper Pumpkin's 6th Birthday celebration.  Second it came with oodles of die cuts!

I added some Daffodil Delight cardstock to this design.  The large candles are from a banner that I cut up.  The rest is self-explanatory.  I think a 3 year old would love to count their 3 candles on this card!

My second design is a centerpiece.  This uses the 2 pop-up card interior layers, one of each design.  I stamped with the free numbers stamp set.  Shhh: someone in our house will be #10 very soon!

There is the cakes on one side and then the gifts on the opposite side.  The double-sided balloons are stamped and punched with the Stampin' Up! Balloon punch, details are below.

This is a sheet of Poppy Parade card stock.  Score at 5 1/2" from each end, then score 1/2" form each end.

Next mark the ends that overlap and pierce 3 holes, one is at the 4 1/4" mark and the others are 1 1/2" from each end.  This side will overlap and be sturdier to hold the balloon picks.

Fold on all of the score lines.  Then adhere the 1/2" ends with Tear and Tap to overlap and create the open-syle box below.

I used liquid glue to adhere the ribbon to the skewers, mini clothes pins clamped the ribbon in place until the glue set up.  The balloons are adhered with mini dimensionals stacked two-high for extra thickness at the top part of the balloon.  As you see below, I added a drop of glue onto each side of the ribbon, the, I added the bottom of the balloon over the ribbon skewer.  Again I clipped the clothes pin over it to hold it in place until the glue had set up.

Here you can see the Tear and Tape that was used to hold the cards onto the Poppy Parade box.  I attached the cards to leave a 1/2" margin on each end.

Adjust the holes with the tip of your paper snips until you can tightly slide the balloon picks into the holes.

Here is a top down view of my project.

The Poppin' Birthday kit was so popular that it sold out!  I hope you have enjoyed my projects - this kit was fun and inspiring.  I can't wait to play with the April kit!
