Card Design Just Right vs Too Much

You may have seen the first card before.  Let me tell you about it.  I love our Be Merry Designer Series Paper.  There are so many cute designs and great background patterns.

The Merry Cafe stamps make such fun cups - everyone loves a hot beverage on a cold day!  The Holly embossing folder adds rich texture and detail to emphasize the cup.

I wanted to share how the card above displays the "less is more" philosophy.  Which is why I am posting about it again for this lesson.  One row of Designer Series Paper and ribbon was perfect but two of each was utter busy-ness.  Can you tell the difference?  Oh my, go ahead and laugh!

I also want to tell you that our Online Extravaganza is coming on Monday!!!  I can't wait to share all the details.

Any ideas for how to prevent smudging of the sentiment stamps. No matter what I do I'm getting smudges both aroung "Christmas" and "Happy New Year."

Hi Lee! Thank you for asking. I find that I need to tap-tap-tap lightly on my Stampin' ink pad. I use a piercing mat under my grid paper so that there is a cushion beneath my project. Then I let the stamp rest on the cardstock for the ink to set in a bit. I hope that helps.
